A Course In Miracles – An Eternal Season of Christ

All day today I have been getting directed to write about the Season of Christmas. The title, given above, expresses an ongoing spirit which I see has been completely lost in our high octane consumerism. As I sit ready to write this I realize I am writing this post on the shortest day of the northern hemisphere ( the darkest day). The idea of three days in the tomb should not be lost on anyone. For now we enter into a New Season and the ideas associated with that…rebirth, born again, resurrection.

The Coming of the light into this this dream through A Course In Miracles

But what about it? The concepts bring thoughts of good will toward men and the idea of giving and such, and that is all fine but how is it so quickly lost? How is it this Season of Christ becomes yet another drudgery, another need to sacrifice, another time when you have to spend money to give meaningless gift’s to people you don’t even really like. The idea of a “secret Santa” now boils down to “just send cash”…Hmmm.

So what the hell is it for? My awakening has exposed, in me, all these strange ideas to the bright light of Reality and found them all wanting. Yet as dreams go I find myself without much need of anything, especially in terms of material things. Still a dream, still not offering anything other then an opportunity to look inward and pray for a correction, ask to see THIS truly.

“Sit quietly and look upon the world you see, and tell yourself, “The real world is not like this. It has no buildings, and there are no streets where people walk alone and separately. There are no stores where people buy an endless list of things they do not need. It is not lit with artificial light, and night comes not upon it. There is no day that brightens and grows dim. There is no loss. Nothing is there but shines, and shines forever.” This world you see MUST BE DENIED, for sight of it is costing you a different kind of vision. YOU CANNOT SEE BOTH WORLDS. For each of them involves a different kind of seeing, and depends on what you cherish. The sight of one is possible because you have DENIED THE OTHER.” A Course In Miracles

There IS something else to see but you are going to have to let go of everything you see now. So in those moments, as you sit around your lounge room, with kids, rellys and complete chaos, remember to use these moments. Use them for the healing of what never was. Use them to see your brother guiltless, not just because he IS but because YOUR salvation and the salvation of the world depends on it.

So my prayer for us, here and now, would be one in which we enter into an eternal time of Christ, that shows us the Truth about the Self we share in Him.

Merry Christmas indeed!
