A Course In Miracles – Being A Teacher Of God Series ~ Development Of Trust

Being A Teacher Of God
Development Of Trust

Lets look at trust. Why would trust be one of the first things to confront you as start out on this new adventure? Well, just think about the idea of trust and how you use it on a daily basis. You trust that the guy driving that truck coming toward you is going to stay on his side of the road. You trust that when you give money to the bank you will get it back. You trust the sun to rise each day. As you can see you are placing trust in a lot of things all the time.

Jesus says trust is the foundation upon which the teacher of God will fulfill their function. Here is what He says about trust:

This is the foundation on which their ability to fulfill their function rests. Perception is the result of learning. In fact, perception is learning, because cause and effect are never separated. The teachers of God have trust in the world, because they have learned it is not governed by the laws the world made up. It is governed by a Power That is in them but not of them.”

And as you begin this process you will need to develop trust, trust in God as the Source of your being and giver of everything you could ever possibly need. What is really beautiful about Jesus in His Course In Miracles, is that He is telling you what is going to happen to you. This insinuates the fact that we are looking back on this journey from the point at which it ended.

First, they must go through what might be called “a period of undoing.” This need not be painful, but it usually is so experienced. It seems as if things are being taken away, and it is rarely understood initially that their lack of value is merely being recognized.”

You are being asked to look again at all the things you previously thought valuable so as to re-evaluate their true worth to you from the point of view of your new relationship with God.
